About 27 years ago I built a 12' x 16' shed which was quickly filled with a wood stove and table saw. Since then I have built and furnished 3 homes. The furniture started as simple country style, progressing to panel and frame style carcass construction and a dabble in craftsman style (I guess that’s what they call it). At the end of the day reading was my source of education and I have a full closet full of books and magazines from Fine Woodworking to James Krenov's “The Fine Art Of Cabinetmaking”. It was his inspirational books that got me turning the corner and changed my thoughts on how and what to build. The desire to build higher quality work led to  the need to acquire more hand tools and build a proper  workbench . Lately I have been building small to medium size pieces (more appropriate for my shop size) and letting the beauty of the wood act as the ornamentation to simplify the look and not over clutter. As they say “sometimes less is more”

Those who know and love wood are never in a hurry with it, preferring to engage themselves in the rich and slow magic that wood works on the human psycho.”
